As a West Ham United fan the transfer window can become very aggravating not just for myself, but us fans. I feel the Board have not helped with the situation ie. too public about the clubs’ dealings. Unlike most other clubs in the premier league who keep the details very in-house. Why can’t we do the same? False promises since the summer with the Board publicly saying they will sign a big name striker and that hasn’t happened. This January the main signing was 33 year old Jose Fonte on a 2 and a half year deal – my opinion, very good business considering Ogbonna has been carrying an injury for some time and is now out for the rest of the season, so Fonte can step straight in and play. He’s very experienced as well and won the Euros with Portugal, other than that the consistent messing around with player bids has made the club look very embarrassing especially in regards to Robert Snodgrass, £3m (!!) it’s simply just laughable but I’ve currently seen that we have matched Burnley’s bid and he is due in London for a medical and to talk personal details, ie. contract terms so us fans will have to wait and see. Good signing for us if he agrees.
Again, this takes me on to the Payet fiasco. Why are we hanging on to him? Clearly he doesn’t want to play for us, has said he never wants to play for us. The players at the Club plus fans don’t want to see him back and he wouldn’t be welcomed back either. Asking for £30m for a player that will be 30 years old, given his ability yes, but he’s got what 2 maybe 4 years left in him. Take £25m and run we got him for just over 10 million so we would make minimum £15m on him, but the Board are adamant he is not going. Silly, silly silly! They could use the money and get a decent striker, Hogan maybe, will he cut it? Impressive for Brentford! Again, heavily linked with him. These are my views on current matters, what are yours???
