News coming out today from Sunderland is that an offer for Van Aanholt has been accepted according to Sky Sports.
The Dutchman had handed in his transfer request as Sunderland look to go into another scrap to stay in the league but the Black Cats were determined to not let him go for too little.
Palace’s bid of £14m was accepted for the now well-established left-back. Van Aanholt has gained a reputation for being able to score goals as well as be a solid defender.
Van Aanholt will join up with his old manager from Sunderland, Sam Allardyce. Big Sam clearly rates him very highly and can seem him solving Palace’s defence out who have been struggling all season which was seen them drop into the bottom 3.
Palace certainly are not holding back this transfer window with Jeff Schlupp also joining Palace for £12.5m.
The deal is subject to medical. Van Aanholt is already in London and the deal is expected to go through today as long as there are no issues found in the medical.
